Our Approach

Bruce Maclean Legal is committed to providing timely, cost-effective and commercially focused legal advice. Our compact size means that our clients receive personalised service with direct access to our Principal if required. Work is directed to the lawyer with the required expertise and is closely monitored by the Principal.

Our commercial focus and select client-base allows us to be pro-active in our advice and place a real emphasis on guiding clients to avoid legal problems and to maximise business value. Where possible, we visit our clients at their premises to help better understand their businesses and the types of issues they face.

New clients

We invite potential clients to meet with us for a no-obligations initial consultation to discuss your business and likely needs. If we do not believe we can add value to your business, or think that your legal requirements might be better served by another firm, we will say so. We believe that a good fit between us and your business is important to a successful ongoing relationship.

Engagement and instructions

We give careful consideration to agreeing the scope of work with clients, and provide estimates for the agreed work. All work proceeds on a specific or general engagement letter, and is subject to our standard Terms of Engagement.
